Dear Residents:

This snowstorm has been a unique one, leaving the region with frigid temperatures, several inches of snow overnight, followed by a full day of sleet and freezing rain. Although the sun will begin to melt the snow, it will be slow, due to the freezing temperatures. The snow is very heavy and icy, resulting in malfunction of equipment and the need for heavy manual labor.

Crews have been dispatched and are onsite again this morning to continue clearing sidewalks and drive lanes. Today you will see workers manually breaking up ice and shoveling. Front-end loaders will begin moving icy mounds and heavy snow/ice piles that plows are unable to handle. This process will be ongoing over the coming days.

The contractor is requesting the following assistance from residents that will make the operation more efficient and successful:

– Please do not move snow and ice from parking spaces and vehicles into the street or sidewalks. This additional material will make it more difficult or impossible to clear.

– Please keep vehicles out of the driving lanes and fire lanes. We need as much room as possible to navigate with the trucks, plows and equipment.

– Please don’t play in or near the streets when the contractors are on site working.

This cleanup will likely take several days to complete, but we are confident that the crews will make some headway today. We ask for your continued patience as our crews work diligently in harsh conditions.

Your safety is of upmost importance. If your walkways have not been cleared, we encourage you to not use them if you don’t have to. There have also been reports of ice falling off the roofs, therefore residents need to take extreme caution when entering and exiting the units.

Stay safe and warm,

Management and Board of Directors
